About the S Gundam
The seventh Gundam developed by AE to create the ultimate MS.
The MSA-0011 S Gundam was a Gundam Type MS developed by Anaheim Electronics (AE), It was developed under the codename of the “ ι (lota) Gundam” being an MS belonging to Project Z. The tail stabilizer, generator distribution, transforming structure. and adoption of a transforming movable frame are some features Implemented due to the project.
The combining and detaching mechanisms and large output beam weapons are also thought to have come from related technologies. The MS has unique features such as the INCOMs, wire guided attack terminals, and the pseudo personality system ALICE (Advanced Logistic & Inconsequence Cognizing Equipment). The latter was an Al which aimed to create unmanned Mobile Suits.
The equipment made the Gundam a complete fourth generation MS, and it was deployed to Task Force Alpha and was launched to suppress the New Desides outbreak in U. C. 0088.
An MS that managed to transform into cruising mode and have enhanced combat capabilities.
Equipped in upgrade parts, the S Gundam receives even more combat capabilities in its heavy armament edition.
The MSA-0011 [Ext] Ex-S Gundam is a form where eight uperade parts are attached to the S Gundam. The most iconic parts are the I-Field Generator installed chest part, the two booster units, and the Reflector INCOMs on the knees. The addition of the upgrade parts did result in the MS doubling its weight, but also lead to improved thrust and the articulated booster unit enhanced its mobility and maneuverabüty.
Additionally, the MS has a transformation structure that allows it to change into its cruising “G-Cruiser Mode.' The mode was designed for traveling long-distances similar to the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam's G Fortress Mode, and its refined design has made it into an even more reliable mode.
In addition to the Ex-S Gundam, there were multiple upgrade plans for the S Gundam, such as the Gundam Booster Unit Type (MSA-0011[Bst]), where the booster units of the Ex-S Gundam are attached to the lower body instead of the legs, and PLAN 303E.
Transformation
The transformation from MS Mode to G-Cruiser is done by articulating the shoulders, Additional Propellant Tanks, and A Parts main wing unit. The back block shifts to the front with the torso (Core Block) at the center without having to be removed, making the MS unique.
HEAD INCOM
Quasi-Psycommu wire-guided attack terminals. Three shots can be fired at once and are then retracted and connected to the Mobile Suit's body to charge energy. Information leaked from the Augusta Institute was used for their development.
A PARTS MAIN WING UNIT
Attached to the shoulders as wing binders in MS Mode. It functions as a movable limb and helps to improve the Mobile Suit's mobility by working as a sub-stabilizer.
CORE BLOCK
The Core Block, a central element to the combining and transformation structure, also functioned as an escape system. It was a structure critical to recovering ALICE's main computer, as well as for the pilot's survival.
ADDITIONAL PROPELLANT TANKS
The shoulders were equipped with additional propellant tanks. The MS was capable of transforming into the G-Cruiser while equipping them, and they were able to create enough thrust to leave the atmosphere. However, they were often jettisoned when transforming into MS mode.
REFLECTOR INCOM
The Beam Saber Boxes on the knees were replaced with Reflector INCOMs, Reflector INCOMs are armaments that can bend and redirect beams fired from the MS to hit enemies. They need to be charged every time they are used.
B PARTS MAIN WING UNIT
The main wing of the B Parts is moved and used as the rear armor in MS Mode.
The MS adopted the standard Core Block System where the G-Core (C Parts) is inserted between the A/B Parts. Each of the parts, including the armaments, move during the transformation, and the cockpits for each of the Parts are placed in the center of the torso in MS Mode.
