The Gundam Zirius is the latest state-of-the-art mobile suit for extravehicular activity developed by East End Co. as a part of the Outer Space Exploration Project launched by the international organization Solar System Alliance.
Two hundred years ago, the remains of an unknown organism later known as βMother Swan" were discovered in the rings of Saturn, and recent research results revealed that it was a life form that came from outside the solar system. It was thought that research based on organisms capable of traveling between planetary bodies would undoubtedly contribute to the further development and endeavors of humanity, and a massive budget and an overwhelming amount of human resources were invested to establish the Outer Space Exploration Project.
Since outer space is an unknown realm to humanity, mobile suits that were to be used for extravehicular activities required a high level of versatility to handle any and all unforeseen circumstances. Multiple companies placed their bids on a tryout to decide on mobile suit models, and the EES series was adopted after years of debate. The development concept of the Gundam Zirius includes phrases such as βa next-generation, all-purpose machine that fulfills the dreams of humanity."
Its most prominent features are the Feather Extensions installed on its back.
ARMAMENTS
FEATHER EXTENSION
The Feather Extensions mounted on the back of the mobile suits act as heat sinks and were made using cutting-edge technology derived from research on the Mother Swan. The list of developers who worked on them includes the names of staff members of the International Genome Institute, and it is known that some form of biotechnology was incorporated.
EES-ARMS-001 BEAM RIFLE
This is a beam rifle developed by East End Co. for the EES series. It has a transforming mechanism that allows it to transform between the middle-range mode and long-range mode with higher accuracy and outputs.
EES-ARMS-201 BEAM SABER
These are beam sabers developed by East End Co. for the Outer Space Exploration Project. They are lightweight while having high output. They are also used by Marzim, mobile suits developed by the same company.
EES-ARMS-501 SHIELD
This is a shield developed by East End Co. for the EES series. It is heat/impact-resistant and lightweight. The sharp tips can also be used for attacks.
