E.F.G.F. Prototype Close-Combat Mobile Suit
This is one of the prototype Mobile Suits developed by the Earth Federation Forces specifically for ground combat.its operating time and maneuverability were especially boosted as it was designed to go deep into enemy territory to pertorm reconnaissance in force and behind-the-lines disruption. These features were enhanced by armor components with back thruster cover nozzles with afterburners and modular designs to reduce weight.
Although this MS is believed to be based on the RX-78, the pair of small autocannons installed on the head have been exchanged with four guns, Its loadout also includes a large Vulcan cannon mounted on the shoulder as a powerful anti-aircraft weapon to enable operations under enemy air superiority. It has a pair of unique camera eyes that light up in different patterns, which seems to be a function implemented due to the addition of various sensors for reconnaissance.
For unknown reasons. development materials for the machine were lost after its evaluation operation, and the full picture of the events that took place is yet to be revealed through investigations of records including detailed battle reports.
Weaponry
Beam Saber
These are one of the main weapons of the Federation Forces' Mobile Suits. They are extremely powerful armaments in close combat and armor that could withstand them did not exist at the time of the One Year War. They quickly run out of energy, and multiple sabers are carried as a countermeasure to this issue.
Beam Rifle
This is an armament that symbolizes Gundam's overwhelming combat abilities. Until the arrival of this portable rifle, beam weapons could only be installed on battleships. It has the power to destroy Mobile Suits with a single shot.
Shoulder Gatling Gun
This armament is used to keep enemy Mobile Suits in check and to attack general weapons. Its external structure increases its round capacity while improving firepower and its rate of fire. It can also be removed to reduce weight and boost mobility.
Camera Eye
This unit has more sensors stored in its head than normal Mobile Suits to enhance its reconnaissance abilities. The light-up patterns of the โeyes" change when their functions are switched.
Shield
This is a large shield to compensate for the Mobile Suit's armor which was reduced to enhance its mobility. It extends vertically to increase its range of protection.
