Fumina Hoshino was in a pinch. She'd taken on the job of being an ambassador for the Gundam Metaverse Project, and had an idea of what she was expected, but at the same time was hesitant to pursue it.
In the past, a certain Kansaijin builder (Kansaijin=People from Japan's Kansai region) had put together a Gunpla he dubbed “Super Fumina," which took several motifs from Fumina and ended up causing something of a stir in the world of Gunpla. Thus, the brand of “Gunpla'Cos Heroines" was born as its own niche of the plastic modeling community. Still, Fumina was conflicted about how popular the “Fumina Series" had become, especially since it was not really to her taste, but couldn't do much more than simply keep that embarrassment bottled up inside... until now.
Being chosen as the ambassador for this project was a great honor, and there was no choice for her to reject this offer. She thought long and hard, and decided that as a kind of “thank you" to the Gunpla she loves so much, she'd turn those feelings into something positive, something concrete.
Wielding enough influence to form the Try Fighters team, Fumina quickly got in touch with the Kansaijin Builder and coerced him into creating an avatar for her. She carefully explained her overall concept and other personal touches she wanted to add, then put him to work like a mule until the job was done, resulting in exactly what she had pictured in her mind: “Avatar Fumina."
As he watched her walk off with the design doc in hand, an exhausted Kansaijin Builder took a load off with an iced coffee before getting to work on putting together the Avatar Fumina Gunpla. All this despite only being asked for the design, nothing more... And again, all without Fumina's express permission…
