Compass Mobile Suit

A machine developed by ZAFT as a successor to the ZAKU Warrior and ZAKU Phantom. It is currently used exclusively by Compass for activities including trial operations. Its design allows for it to be equipped with the “Wizard" armament packs for the ZAKU series.

Its “B.O.L.E.L.O." backpack is the same one found on the GYAN Strom, and it can switch between an “S" type for space or an “A" type for atmospheric use. From the beginning of development, the backpack's design kept these two functions separated, and their components and manufacturing processes were standardized as much as possible in order to reduce production and operation costs. The inner part of the “B.O.L.E.L.O. S" is equipped with midspace propellant tanks and enhanced cooling mechanisms. It has fewer engines to support maneuvering than the “A" type does, but the weight of its sponsons is heavier than that of its counterpart, meaning that ultimately the two types have nearly the same overall weight.

Note that “B.O.L.E.L.O. S" stands for “Battle Operation Launch and ExpLosive Ordnance Space." “B.O.L.E.L.O." armament options include a missile launcher and a linear gun, but a typical unit is usually equipped with two missile launchers. Its beam rifle is one made for short-range combat.
