This unit was originally a scrapped GAT-X102 Duel Gundam, but was later modified in secret by a group headed by Eileen Canaver and Ezalia Jule. These modifications were overseen by Yuri Amarfi, and took place at Boaz, a space fortress made for emergency situations. Changes to the unit include replacing its cockpit with the one used in the Zaku series, as well as alterations allowing for it to run on nuclear power.
Many other modifications were made, such as introducing an Assault Shroud, enhanced equipment for mobile suits, and adding a Beam Saber, Beam Rifle, and missiles to the storage found in the armor on its shoulders. It retains some of the equipment found on the original Duel Gundam, such as Vulcans on the head and a handheld Beam Rifle, and as its name might suggest, it also has equipment reminiscent of that from the GAT-X207 Blitz Gundam, like the XM61 HKP βLancer-Dart I" and XM53S Piercer-roc βGleipnir II."
