Kingdom of Foundation Mobile Suit
The Cal-re.A, also referred to by its abbreviated form βre.A," is a unit independently developed by Foundation, though it incorporates PLANT technology. Unlike the Shi-ve.A and Rud-ro.A-fellow Black Knight units with black armor, as their naming suggests-the Cal-re.A is unique due to its white body with gold ornamentation. The cockpit has two seats. A pilot may control the unit's movement from the front seat, while a marksman controls the weaponry in the back.
It possesses a great variety of armaments, but as the unit is specialized for mobility and electronic warfare, autonomous mobile weaponry known as the Ziggurat is often found in tow. With its extremely high firepower, the Ziggurat provides support for the Cal-re.A in battle, helping to balance its strengths and weaknesses. The rear pilot may control this weaponry remotely and carry out attacks from all ranges. The Cal-re. A's armor type is known as Femto Technology Armor (FT Armor). Such superior technology is necessary for control down to the femtometer level, but as it does not need electric power to run, it has near-infinite durability.

The wings of the Black Knight Squad Cal-re. A use mock anti-gravity levitation devices. By placing an electric field over the unit in the form of wings or even a cloak, its immediate surroundings gain a levitational force field, giving it the ability to fly at will.
