The GAT-X133 Sword Calamity Gundam is a modified version of the second GAT-X series' GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam under the “Rebuild 1416 Program", The “Rebuild 1416 Program" is a project to create versatile units based on the Calamity Gundam. The concept is similar to the striker pack system developed for the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam.
The main modification for this unit is all weapons, excluding the 580mm multi-phase energy cannon “Scylla," have been changed to melee weapons. Most of the weapons used are based on weapons for Sword Strike Gundam. To support the changes made to machine equipment, the FCS and Vetronics have been adjusted and the unit is installed with an OS for Naturals. Due to the change in unit weight, mobility and maneuverability have been improved too.
Units 1-3 were manufactured, making a total of three units. Unit 1 was initially manufactured as Calamity Gundam but was later converted to Sword Calamity Gundam, which is why Unit 1 is colored in green. Unit 2 and Unit 3 participated in the Third Victoria Offensive. Unit 1 and Unit 2 engaged in combat during the South American Independence War, resulting in heavy damage for both units. Both units were recovered and repaired by Kaite Madigan afterwards.
Weaponry
580 mm Multi-phase Energy Cannon “Scylla"
This is the same armament as the Aegis Gundam and the Calamity Gundam, but its output was reduced to 70% due to the operating time of the machine. It is said that it was not used extensively in this machine, which was designed primarily for close combat.
15.78 m AVS (Anti-Vessel Sword) “Schwert Gewehr"
An Anti-Vessel Sword (AVS) based on Sword Strike Gundam's equipment. With its laser blade and alloy blade, it can also be used underwater. it iS usually operated with one in each hand, but it can also be used with both hands by stacking both swords on top of each other. It also had a laser cannon built into the grip end, which could be fired while suspened on the back-pack or held in hand.
Rocket-anchor “Panzer Eisen"
A projectile rocket-anchor that can be used to capture or disorient enemies. It can also be used to fix its own position with the claw.
Combat knife “Armor-Schneider"
A physical-blade type fighting armament. It excels in super close-range combat due to its ease of handling. While the Strike Gundam had a folding type, this machine is equipped with a sheath knife type. It is stored in the side of the distal part of the shin.
Beam boomerang “Mydas Messer"
Throwing weapons mounted on both shoulders. It is the same type of armament as the Sword Strike Gundam, but the shape of the grips are different and other details are different. The shoulder armor and high-mobility thrusters have been removed in order to be equipped with this weapon.
