Opening a Gundam Card Game Newtype Rising Booster Pack box

After an initial beta phase, the Gundam Card Game launched officially last month to some fanfare. After all, it’s the latest (and greatest 🤔) of Bandai’s attempts to crack this lucrative genre. ‘Newtype Rising [GD01]’ is the first Booster Pack set available, and a couple of weeks ago I was able to purchase a full box.

This box remained unopened, until… yesterday. Here’s the full set of pulls, from all 24 packs included. Checks ✅ are for what I got, crosses ❌ are for everything else. Maybe grab a drink, it’s a long one!

What do you think — anything catch your eye? I didn’t manage to pull many enhanced cards, but I’m pleased with the ones there. It’s a relatively safe, but crowd-pleasing, selection to kick things off. And I’m excited to check out the upcoming Booster Pack set: Dual Impact (GD02), which is set to feature cards from Z Gundam, Gundam X, Gundam AGE & more.
